Summary
This article describes how to set-up Outlook so that you can use it to send and receive e-mail to/from your Hyperlinx domain. This explanation uses Outlook XP for our example so there may be a few minor differences in these procedures with older versions of Outlook. The information needed to be entered will remain the same.
Procedure
To configure Outlook for sending and receiving e-mail:
1. Open Outlook.
2. Select the Accounts option from the Tools menu. The Internet Accounts dialog box appears:
3. Put a dot in the "Add a new e-mail account" by left clicking in the circle.
4. Click on "Next"
5. Click on "Add" button
6. Put a dot in "POP3" by left clicking in the circle. Click "Next"
7. In the "User Information" section type in your name (as you wish it to be displayed when someone views your emails) and add your email address.
8. In the "Logon Information" type in your email address here also and then type in your password ensuring you type it exactly as it has been sent to you. (Case sensitive) Leave the tick in the "Remember password" box and leave "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" unticked
9. In the "Server Information" section add your domain name MINUS the "www." section to both the Incoming Mail Server (POP3)" and the "Outgoing Mail server (SMTP)" sections. For example "johnsmith.co.uk" in each.
10. Click on "Test Account Settings" button and Outlook will perform some tests and send a test email to that email address.
11. Click "Next".
12. Click on the "Finish" button to complete the set-up.
13. Send a test email to and from your new address to another email account on your PC or alternatively email Hyperlinx using this new account and we will confirm the mail is received successfully.
